Conclusion

LSD is probably one of the worst drugs/hallucinogens you can take out there. LSD could damage a relationship between family and friends, it could cost you your life to fix your life, and you could eventually end up in jail and die a miserable, and lonely death. The consequences of LSD are just as bad as the consequences of any other drug, such as marijuana and cocaine.

If anyone offers you LSD, whether it's your friend or a random homeless man on the street, always say no. LSD will impact your life greatly, and if you are young and taking drugs, it will get you into a lot of trouble. If it's a friend that offers you the drug, they are not actually your friend, as real friends know MUCH better.

Flashbacks

Bascially a flashback is when you don't take LSD for a while but you still feel the exact same effects that the drug has on you. A flashback occurs when you least expect it, such as at a party or a dinner with your parents. They can also happen a week, a month or even a year after LSD is taken. It is often heard that LSD never leaves your body. This is sometimes reffered to as the "lingering molecule." Luckily flashbacks are rare.

Usually when a LSD user has a flashback, three types of effects appear. Perpetual distortions, heightened imagery and unbidden images. The prevalance of LSD flashbacks range from 15% to 77%.

One of the worst times to experience a flashback is when driving.

The Consequences of LSD

The results of either consuming LSD or dealing it result in several years in prison and a large fine. In Florida, the fine for LSD is 10,000 dollars and up to 5 years in jail. Selling the drug will also result in the same fine but you could end up in jail for up to 15 years.

There are physical consequences of LSD, but there are plenty more mental consequences. Such as, psychotic episodes will be triggered and traumatic flashbacks will occur. The worst part of that is, a flashback can occur more than a year after the user has taken the drug. You could also go insane, and eventually, die.

LSD Mental Effects

The mental effects that are associated with LSD are usually hallucinations or visual images that sometimes relate with physiology or religious aspects.

When the mental effects set in, the illusions seen are often very powerful and overwhelming, making the user of the drug want to stop. At lower quantities of LSD intense flashes of light can be seen. The lights seen are often very bright and in distorted geometric designs. Sometimes the hallucinations can be dream-like or free-flowing.

The mental effects of LSD seem harmless, but they can be very dangerous. When the hallucinations set in, panic reactions can also happen. The effects cannot be controlled, as the only thing that can stop them is time. It can also cause anxiety and other pyschotic reactions.

LSD Consumption

LSD is always taken orally, or by the mouth. The drug is placed on a special piece of paper that is meant to be chewed, and then swallowed. Then the chemical is absorbed into the user's gastrointestinal system.

The use of LSD has greatly decreased since the late 1900's. Back then it was used 8.1 million times, however today users use LSD at least once in their life time.

This is the paper LSD is consumed in.

LSD Physical Effects

LSD can cause many physical effects on the body such as nausea and elevated blood pressure. Many LSD related deaths are often caused by paranoia, hallucinations or panic reactions. The drug can sometimes mess up the messages sent from various body parts to the brain, and that can lead to some more problems. The messages can be bunched up, and produce a sensation known as synesthesia. It is known to produce the effect of "hearing colours" and "seeing sounds".

LSD can also affect your mood and emotions. This causes mental effects that can usually lead to the effects of LSD.

List of Physical Effects
-Mydriasis (dilation of pupils)
-Raised body temperature
-Increased blood sugar
-Weakness
-Blurred version

LSD Effects

There are many effects when it comes to LSD. The power and intensity of the effect usually depends on the amount of LSD you take. The minimum amount of LSD you need to take to receive effects is 25 micrograms, but an amount as little as 10 micrograms can lead to euphoria, which is a state in which you are very excited or happy.

When consumed, the drug moves through the blood, and eventually into the brain. Within about 24 hours,  it is excreted by urine. The effects of LSD can last for up to 12 hours or more, so the person using it will not be required to consume large amounts of the drug.
